Years ago, during a particularly trying time of my own, my good friend and mentor, Peaslee Dumont, M.D. would speak of this space and time between “no longer” and “not yet”.
Just the phrase, “Between no longer and not yet”, to hear it spoken to feel the words as home– that someone would recognize it, normalize it even– that was enough to bring me solace.
This space, of “between no longer and not yet”, I have come to know very well, not only through personal experience, but because I continue to visit this space, this waiting station to change, as I meet with clients- couples, individuals or organizations- on their path to the next phase. It is an honor to hold this space with, and for the people I work with.
And it is in awe that I witness the ability of the human to spirit to move out from the space of ”not yet” into healing, motivation, creative work, progressive growth and always closer to actualization.
